Ken Sohocki, "Ethics"

Bio
Ken Sohocki received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the General Motors Institute in 1969. Then he received a MS in Computer Science under a GM Fellowship from Purdue in 1970.
Following his MS degree, he moved up through the ranks at General Motors, starting as a Senior Research Engineer in 1971; followed by positions as a Project Engineer in 1976; a General Administrator in 1977; a Product Planner - S/T Trucks in 1981; a Program Manager - 1985 M-Van in 1983; a Manager - Trucks in 1985; an Assistant Chief Engineer - M/L Chassis/Powertrain/HVAC in 1989; a Chief Engineer - Special Projects in 1991; and finally a Chief Engineer - MT800/820/830 in 1993. This last position involved the development of an all new full-size truck product line for General Motors including the Silverado and Sierra pick-ups as well as the Suburban, Tahoe and Yukon utility vehicles. The full-size truck product line is General Motors' highest volume, most profitable single platform worldwide. As Chief Engineer of this product line he was responsible for a $1 billion engineering budget and a capital budget of $3 billion. These products sold in excess of 11 million units between the 1999 and 2007 model years.
He retired from GM in 2000 and has been providing engineering consulting services since then.
He was awarded the "1998 Truck Engineer of the Year" for General Motors; received GM's "Chairman's Honors" and "President's Council Honors" in 1998; and was nominated for "Engineer of the Year" by Design News Magazine in 1998 and 1999.
He has been a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers since 1988.
